Descriptif
- LOCATION: in a typical and quiet Venetian town just 25' from Padua and Ferrara and 40' from Venice and Bologna with Verona, Garda Lake and the Adriatic Sea just beyond. Moreover, Abano, the famous Thermal town of the Euganean Hills, known since Roman times, is only a few kilometres away.
The palace is one of the few buildings in the city centre, with driveway, internal garage and access to its own garden.
- HISTORY: Rovigo is a small town of pre-Etruscan origin with a multi-millennial history and its location has been always strategic for the passage of people and goods from central and southern Italy to Europe. For years, then, it is known for the productive wealth of its agriculture.
The house is a patrician building erected at the end of the '700 beginning of '800, by the family of Earls Campo and completely renovated in the '70s. A few steps from the Teatro Sociale, which was one of the 5 acoustic tests for the construction of the Scala theatre in Milan and the Temple of "Blessed Virgin of the rescue", a wonderful octagonal Venetian church, better known as: "la Rotonda".
- RESTRUCTURING: Restored in the '70s with the construction of strong earthquake-resistant foundations, the construction of six modern bathrooms, the fractionating of heating on each floor, the renovation of two kitchens and a kitchenette, inside a small apartment for the caretaker or for office use, construction of a splendid "palladiana" (the typical floor of the Venetian palaces) on the main floor, and the restoration of a library too. Renovation of 2 precious fireplaces and one, for cooking use, inside the kitchen of the main floor. Restructuring was completed by a splendid attic completely covered in wood.
- ACTIVITIES: The city is famous for its team and rugby school, but other sports, such as cycling, benefit from the proximity of the Euganean Hills and the two main rivers of Italy, which allow enchanting paths. The Adriatic Sea and Lake Garda are the other close summer destinations, while Asiago and the Dolomites are those for winter sports. Cultural activities range from the rich theatre season, to the prestigious exhibitions held at Palazzo Roverella, to the frequent meetings in the 16th century Academy of Concordi, also home to a prestigious art gallery.
