LOCATION
The villa is located in Piossasco, province of Turin, (Piedmont region) in the foothills of the Northwestern Alps. The landscape is just spectacular and the house is surrounded by nature. The property has a unique view over the whole mountain range of the Alps, including a privileged view over the most beautiful mountain of Piedmont, the so-called Monviso. This part of the region is gifted with a particularly pleasant microclimate, as winter season is mild whilst summer temperatures are never too high because of a natural temperate mediterranean climate. The unusual presence, in the Piedmont region, of trees that are typical of a mild mediterranean climate -such as olive trees, palm trees, and figues plants- are witnesses to a mild overall climate zone. The location of the house is more than perfect, as it is in a sunny position from early morning till sunrise. Unlike many houses built in the alpine areas, which see sunlight only a few hours a day, this property is really bright all day long.
The house is located at the hillside of the St. George Mount (Monte San Giorgio) which is home to a well-known national mountain park.
Simply coming out of the house gate and crossing the street, you can find yourself immersed in the St. George Park, a beautiful wood that hosts wildlife animals such as foxes, deer, and many species of hawks. Those woods are also famous because very good quality mushrooms are available to be picked during the appropriate season (usually from late August to mid October).
The town of Piossasco is less than 30 mins drive from Turin, which has been the first capital city of Italy. The climate of this special area, the spring blooming, the gentle summer breeze make this location the perfect spot 365 days a year. Hiking, riding and trekking lovers have plenty of choices for their outdoor activities including mountain bike trails. For those who love practicing yoga and meditation, a well-known yoga center is just 200 mts away from the house in the neighbourhood.
THE PROPERTY
The house is laid out over three floors: ground floor, first floor, and attic. The house is currently structured in 2 residential units completely independent. Due to the extended house’s dimensions and the layout two families can cohabit in complete ease, comfort and privacy The house has legal authorisation for a further third family accommodation with a few interventions on the ground floor. Due to the generous dimensions of the garden and thanks to legal permissions, even a second yet smaller house can be built inside the boundaries of the property or alternatively it is possible to extend the house’s surface to an additional 90 sq mts.

GROUND FLOOR: consists of an entrance to a sunny (full windows) veranda/living room, three rooms and a bathroom.
FIRST FLOOR: entrance, living room, dining room, two bedrooms, kitchen, two spacious bathrooms and terrace (with view over the Alps).
SECOND FLOOR (MANSARDA) : entrance, two rooms, kitchen and bathroom.
The whole building is made out of high quality materials and is in a perfect state of maintenance, both inside and outside. Inner stairs are made of italian rose marble while both the bedrooms floors at the first floor are made of precious (and rare) olive tree wood.
THE GARDEN
The 3000 square meters garden is one of a kind. It can be undisputedly compared to a botanical garden. There are huge amounts of flowers and decorative plants, as well as a wide variety of fruit trees, including figues, cherry, apricot, and pomegranate. In the garden there are also different varieties of vines including the super-sweet variety called Uva Regina (Grape Queen). A small portion of the park is used as a vegetable garden. A swimming pool can be easily placed in the park as there’s plenty of space The driveway is made of a precious yet rare local flat stone called ‘Pietra di Luserna’, a kind of stone that has been used for the outdoor paving of many Royal Palaces since the 18th century. The Pietra di Luserna can be found at the outdoor paving of the Royal Palace in Turin and at the Reggia di Stupinigi and Reggia di Venaria, just to name the most known ones.
SURROUNDING, SERVICES AND DISTANCES
Despite being located in a quiet and tranquil place, the house is close to all services and shops. The closest shopping mall is within the range of 5 minutes drive. At the same time, simply by crossing the road you find yourself immersed in the silence of the surrounding woods, whose extent is vast.
The closest International airport (Torino Caselle - TRN) is at 35 minutes drive from the house.
The city of Turin has hosted the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. The nearest ski resort is less than 50 km from the house. The worldwide famous ski resort called Via Lattea (Sestriere) is a little over an hour away.
The nearest lake is Lago di Avigliana, only 20 minutes drive from the house, where it is possible to practice sailing and windsurfing. Either some famous lakes (Lago Maggiore, for example) or the sunny Riviera and its beautiful sea can be reached in 1:40 hour drive or less.

The whole Piedmont region is a top notch destination for food and wine lovers. A house in Piedmont opens the doors to a truly exciting food and wine experience, as this Region offers a variety of traditional dishes, local foods, including an almost uncountable amount of cheeses, each of which is worth a bite, that is second to none. The wines deserve a particular mention: the Piedmont region produces more than 50 different types of wine. Piedmont is house to the King of Wines, the Barolo. It also produces the Barbaresco, which is a stunning wine, and the Nebbiolo, the Barbera and so many other wonderful wines that cannot be listed here. The Slow Food Association (now famous worldwide) was born in Piedmont and it promotes and protects the local products.

Piedmont, however, is not just good food and wines. It is a region full of history, as Turin was the first capital city in Italy. The town of Piossasco, for example, has many castles, ancient villas and ancient churches. All main historical buildings, including the worldwide known (and truly astonishing, indeed) Reggia di Venaria, the Reggia di Stupinigi and the Racconigi castle can be reached in 30 minutes drive from home.
And what about Turin? It is a town that has experienced incredible changes throughout the years. These changes have transmuted a city that what was once a diamond in the rough into a magnificent city where medieval small alleys and Royal buildings and baroque architecture coexist in harmony, thus providing the visitor with an amazing experience. Turin is also home to the second most important Egyptian museum in the world, whose finds are second only to the museum at Cairo, Egypt. Turin has also the largest open market in Europe: Porta Palazzo, a never-ending kaleidoscope of colors, sounds, people, foods,…
A house in Piossasco gives the unique possibility of enjoying a stunning nature, an incredible history and an exciting food experience that are second to none.

A house in Piossasco is a strategic location to easily reach Turin, its International Airport, mountains, seaside and lakes.
