Montebuono is a small medieval village of approx 800 inhabitants north of Rome on the Umbrian boarder. This village is very well served with shops unlike most villages in the region, which include COOP supermarket, 2 bars, ironmonger, GP surgery, dentist (part-time), Florist, Hairdresser, Ladies Clothes shop,  Post Office, outdoor gym.
The village is very vibrant especially during the summer months and holds several festivals throughout the year. There is a strong community spirit here where everyone gets involved.
The property itself is situated above a small lane and is accessed by an ancient stone staircase through the outer wooden door you enter onto a small enclosed terrace directly above the lane below. The terrace has been recently refurbished and provides the much sought after outside and luminous space not usually found in historical centre properties. It is walled and railed on both sides and is very functional. The appartment has gas central heating with radiators throughout which aslo provides the hot water.
The main entrance door is wooden and double glazed (toughened) with extra security provided by an iron gate. The bathroom consists of WC, bidet, hand basin, shower and space for a washing machine with a window onto the terrace.
The main living area of the property has a small kitchen corner and space for daily living with a window overlooking the main square of the village. There is also a fire place that functions to provide heat throughout the property. From the living room you enter the bedroom with space for kingsize bed, wardrobe and set of drawers with a window looking at the clock tower of th parish church (Sant Maria Assunta)
The local bus transport services to and from the village run regularly both to surrounding villages but also with connections to Rome. Train services are excellent too. Mainline services to Rome from Stamigliano Scalo 20mins away makes the centre of Rome in about an hour.
The property offers the potential purchaser a home or holiday home where you can move into with no works required. And with excellent transport links by bus and train this property has it all!
This area of Italy is one of those areas that has hardly been discovered but offers you everything that is good about Italy and the Italian lifestyle. The numerous Agriturismi in the area offers traditional food that it is local and delicious, many sourcing all it's products from local suppliers so you really do get a taste of true Sabina.
